Very few people in the Netherlands will be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday. And not only because the broadcast begins at midnight here. We doubt most Dutch people would even know which sport is played during the Super Bowl. After all, American football is hardly a local sport. When we do watch sports on TV (usually soccer or speed skating), however, our favorite snacks include kroketten, those sumptuous shrimp or veal ragout-filled crispy croquettes, frikadellen, typically Dutch skinless meat sausages, and kaasstengels, rich Gouda cheese straws, recipes for which can be found on this list of Dutch Party Appetizers.
