The term forgotten vegetables
has become a buzzword in Dutch culinary circles as formerly unfashionable veg come back into vogue. Buzzword or not, I think variety is the spice of life, so I could not welcome this trend more.
It can be a lot of fun trying out some of these rather odd-looking vegetables, knowing that while they seem new, they are actually quite old. Look out for them at (organic) supermarkets, farmers markets and wholefood stores.
