Definition: A stamppot is a vegetable mash made of root vegetables such as potato, parsnips or celeriac or a combination of vegetables. The literal translation is 'stamped pot', which refers to the act of mashing the vegetables. Stamppot is often eaten with a smoked sausage known as rookworst.
