I love serving these green beans with almonds alongside hearty meat dishes, such as Filosoof and Drunken Deer.

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups green beans (250 g)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1/4 cup toasted almonds

Preparation:

Trim the ends off the green beans. Place in a microwave safe dish, add water, cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Allow to stand for a few minutes. Drain. Now add butter and toss so that the butter melts. Season. Scatter with the toasted almonds and serve.

Side dish for 4 people.

Tips:

You can buy toasted almonds or make your own: simply toast the almonds in a dry frying pan until they turn golden.
